How We Began
Nevertheless Ministries began, like most things, with a dream.
Sharon Newkirk felt God calling her to start a non-profit for many years. However, she wrestled with God. She battled thoughts of not feeling good enough or having enough. Yet, her daughter often heard her dream of this ministry she wanted to start and the kinds of ministry she wanted to do.
Meanwhile, Christana Newkirk was dreaming also. Her dreams involved writing books and discipleship materials as well as speaking. As she pursued vocational ministry, battling doubts and fears, her mother slowly began the same pursuit. The two would talk to each other about their dreams regularly.

Then, one evening on a long car ride home from a conference, they were dreaming about possibilities again. Finally, Christana said, “Mom, I think it’s time we stop talking about it and start doing it.”
That’s when the whirlwind began. Neither really knew what it took to start a ministry. Neither had planned a conference. However, they vowed to take a giant leap of faith and trusted that God could use what they did know and fill in the gaps for what they didn’t. Nevertheless Ministries was born by a mother and daughter who are doing what they believe God has called them to. There is still fear, but they’ve decided to just do it scared.
They believe that courage isn’t the absence of fear but taking action in spite of fear. Faith implies that there’s the unknown sometimes. Life and ministry are full of uncertainties. They are excited to see what God does with their gifts and talents.
